He commercialized the straw-fired conger eel dish in 1991 and operates the Gijang Oe-ga Jip (Maternal Grandparents' House) restaurant as the second generation. His restaurant was featured on KBS Live Broadcast: The Nation is Now in 1994 and has been introduced as a famous eatery in major newspapers including Chosun Ilbo, JoongAng Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo, and Kyunghyang Shinmun. It has also been featured on national broadcasts such as MBC and SBS. The restaurant was highlighted on programs including VJ Special Forces, Saengsaeng Info, Good Morning Republic of Korea, Live Broadcast Tonight: Search for the Taste-Testing TV, and the EBS educational broadcast Korea Travelogue ('Gijang Episode') for its straw-fired conger eel. He is the Representative Director of Wonjo Jipbul Gomjangeo Gijang Oe-ga Jip (Original Straw-Fired Conger Eel Gijang Oe-ga Jip)
