She founded the Choi Myung-ja Fashion Design Research Institute. She served as a Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at Seonlin University. She was the Gyeongbuk Chapter Head of the Gyeongbuk Clothing Association. She served as a Judge for the 51st International Skill Olympics Korean Committee. She is the recipient of the 3rd 2019 Creative Innovation Korean Grand Prize
