He has held 18 solo exhibitions and participated in 300 invitational exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He received the Grand Prize for Painting (Western Painting) of the Republic of Korea in 2005 and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Art, Science, and Communication (UK) in 2009. He was honored with the Invited Artist Award at the Amsterdam Art Collection in 2010. He received the Art Grand Prize at the Korea Art Festival (KAF) in 2019 and 2020. In 2022, he received the Senior Artist Award (Western Painting) at the 22nd Artist of the Year 100 Invitational Exhibition. He is the Director of Byeokchon Art Gallery and an Emeritus Professor at Pusan National University.
