He graduated from Dong-A University in Busan in 1977. In 2018, he received the Grand Prize for Traditional Korean Garden at the Grand Prize Korea Culture and Arts Award. He served as the Chairman of the Promotion Committee for the 1st Korea Wildflower Expo and has held 7 solo exhibitions. He operates Geumsan Orchid Farm, specializing in the intensive cultivation of Oriental Orchids. In 2018, he was designated a National Garden Master. Currently, he is the Director of the Geuma Garden and Arboretum. He lectures on Korean Wildflower Gardens at the Gyeongsang National University Lifelong Education Institute.
